Meet Dr. Shafi
Dr. Shafi has served on the City Council of Southlake since May 2014. Prior to that, he served on the Planning and Zoning Commission of the city of Southlake, and volunteered in multiple other roles. Born in India and raised in Pakistan, Dr. Shafi came to the US in 1990. He trained in general surgery, trauma surgery and surgical critical care as well as public health at some of the best universities in the country, including the Johns Hopkins University and University of Pennsylvania. The family moved to Texas in 2003. He is currently in private practice in Grapevine, and the Director for Surgical Quality for Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance. Dr. Shafi has served in several leadership roles at local, national and state professional groups. He is a member of Texas State Republican Party, local Republican Clubs, and serves on a committee at Tarrant County Republic Party. Previously, he served as a Republican Precinct Chair, and was a delegate to State Republican Conventions in 2010, 2012, and 2014. Shahid and Ayesha have been married for over two decades, and are raising their three children in Southlake.
